Mental Health First Aid - Youth

Service Description
The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) program is designed to equip individuals with the skills to provide assistance to those who are displaying signs of deteriorating mental well-being or facing a mental health crisis. The "MHFA – Supporting Youth" course specifically targets individuals from the general public who frequently interact with young people aged between 12 and 24. Throughout the course, participants will gain the following abilities: • recognize signs that a young person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health or substance use crisis • initiate conversations that encourage a young person to talk about a mental health or substance use problem • discuss professional and other supports that could help with recovery to improved mental well-being • assist in a mental health or substance use crisis situation • check in with one’s own mental well-being and take action as needed The Mental Health First Aid course fee is $185.00 (plus HST for a total of $209.05) per person and includes all course learning materials.
